They simply couldn't do enough for me when I experienced a breakdown on a lift I was examining, and it wasn't even a lift they maintain! Within a few minutes, I had the lift back in service because of the help they gave. They simply aim to offer the highest level of service they can and it shows. Having examined a few lifts they service, I can honestly say they keep their lifts in stellar condition and the reliability is always high. They'll move heaven and earth to ensure any issues are resolved quickly whether you're the duty holder of the lift or an insurance inspector. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

What types of lifts do you service?
We service passenger, goods, platform and dumbwaiter lifts, plus stairlifts in commercial or managed environments. We do not support residential or private-home stairlifts.
Do you offer emergency call‑outs?
Yes — we’re available 24/7 for urgent breakdowns and call‑outs.
Can you repair a lift that’s not under a maintenance contract with you?
Absolutely. We offer one‑off repairs even if we don’t manage your regular maintenance.
How often will my lift be serviced under a contract?
We agree a servicing schedule based on your lift’s type, condition and usage, taking the manufacturer’s recommendations into account.
Routine servicing is separate from a thorough examination under LOLER and does not replace it.
Can I switch from another maintenance provider?
Yes — we make switching easy. Just get in touch and we’ll guide you through it.
Are there hidden costs?
No. We’re upfront with our pricing, and you’ll always know what you’re paying for.
Can you help arrange a LOLER examination?
Yes. We can help arrange an examination through an independent third-party provider, or put you directly in touch with a LOLER company. Forge does not carry out LOLER examinations in-house.
Do you upgrade or modernise older lifts?
Yes — from minor upgrades to full modernisation, we improve safety, reliability and efficiency.
Can you repair lift control boards and drives?
Yes. We carry out in-house repairs to control boards and drives, assessed case by case. Tell us the equipment details and the fault so we can discuss the options.
What information will I receive after a visit?
You receive a report matched to the visit. Maintenance reports record service findings and component condition; call-out and repair reports explain the work and outcome; surveys record observations and recommendations. Technical investigations include additional diagnostic evidence and conclusions. The content and level of detail depend on the work carried out.
