Tell us whether you need findings, a work proposal or information to share with an appointed consultant. Agree what the report will contain and whether pricing is part of the commission.
For a planned upgrade, discuss downtime, access, building works and interfaces with other contractors. Recommendations should distinguish the observed problem from an optional improvement.
Avoid gaps between appointments.
A survey does not automatically include testing, design, building works or a thorough examination. Record the agreed inclusions and exclusions before attendance.
