What is lift maintenance?

Lift maintenance is the process of inspecting, servicing and adjusting lift equipment to keep it running safely, reliably and in compliance with regulations.

It addresses three core objectives:

A) Safety

Lifts are regulated machines that carry people; safety components must always work.

B) Reliability

Minimises breakdowns, entrapments, and downtime.

C) Longevity

Maintains asset condition, extending the useful life of expensive equipment.

Standard

Includes routine servicing & small adjustments; excludes breakdowns and parts.

Intermediate

Includes routine servicing & small adjustments; excludes breakdowns and parts.

Comprehensive

Includes breakdowns and most parts, sometimes excluding major items (ropes, motors, drives).

Forge Lifts provide lift PPM services for our client's portfolio of sites primarily based in London and Oxford and with an additional site in Bath.  They have been contracted to provide services for over 1 year so far.  Unify and our client have been extremely impressed with the services provided to date and there was no hesitation in renewing the PPM contract for a 2nd year.  Communications are exceptionally prompt and queries dealt with efficiently and effectively. The team at Forge are always on hand to assist and the engineers who attend are polite and professional. We cannot thank Forge Lifts enough for all their hard work and persistence in sorting out our issues with our dumb waiter lift system. Unfortunately due to a fault with our 3 phase circuit, this lead to several faults with our lift. Forge Lifts engineers were always extremely polite,  punctual and very knowledgeable. We will be using Forge Lifts in any further issues we have in the future and would highly recommend. I had them come out fix lifts in two of my properties, a passenger lift in Gillingham and a wheelchair lift in Maidstone. They simply couldn't do enough for me when I experienced a breakdown on a lift I was examining, and it wasn't even a lift they maintain! Within a few minutes, I had the lift back in service because of the help they gave. They simply aim to offer the highest level of service they can and it shows. Having examined a few lifts they service, I can honestly say they keep their lifts in stellar condition and the reliability is always high. They'll move heaven and earth to ensure any issues are resolved quickly whether you're the duty holder of the lift or an insurance inspector. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
