Forge installs fob readers, keypads and other suitable lift access devices. The arrangement may control whether calls can be made or which floors a user can select.
Define the needs of residents, staff, visitors and contractors before selecting hardware. A standalone system and an extension of a building-wide system need different planning.
Assess the interface with the lift.
We review the existing controls, available interfaces and proposed cable routes. Where a building security provider is involved, agree who supplies, configures and supports each part.
The specification should address emergency operation and behaviour if power or communication is lost. Access restrictions must be assessed alongside the lift’s safety functions.
Make day-to-day management clear.
Agree who issues credentials, removes lost fobs and changes access permissions. Ask how the system will be handed over and supported if the building’s management changes.
