Plan for the loss of normal lighting.
Forge installs and replaces emergency lighting associated with lift installations. The lift car, motor room and access areas may need different arrangements.
The assessment identifies the purpose of each light, the supply and backup arrangement, and any reported failures. Replacing a normal lamp does not establish that the emergency function works.
Check batteries as well as fittings.
The proposal should address the condition of the fitting and backup supply, the required operation and how testing will be carried out. Existing wiring and mounting positions also affect the work.
We agree the installation-specific requirements rather than assuming one battery duration or product suits every location.
Keep a record and an ongoing plan.
Ask for the results of the agreed checks and details of any remaining work. Confirm who arranges subsequent tests, records faults and replaces ageing batteries.
Our maintenance service can be discussed alongside the lighting work. Wider building emergency-lighting responsibilities should be coordinated with your building’s responsible team.
