Forge supplies and installs lift alarm sirens, including units with flashing beacons where suitable. Their location should reflect where staff are present and the surrounding noise and visibility.

A warning inside a plant area serves a different audience from one at a staffed reception. Tell us who needs to receive the alarm and at what times.

Connect the alarm to a response.

We assess the existing alarm circuit, suitable unit, power supply and cable route. The agreed work includes checking activation and the intended indication after installation.

A local siren relies on someone hearing or seeing it and taking action. It does not provide two-way speech or automatically replace the lift’s emergency telephone.

Include the people who use the building.

Discuss noisy locations, unattended periods and whether a visual indication would help. Agree who responds, how the affected lift is identified and how the installation will be checked.
