Lift safety edges.
Supply-only lift safety edges and door detectors from MEMCO and WECO. Share the existing detector make and model, door arrangement and required dimensions so we can discuss the appropriate equipment. Availability, compatibility and price are confirmed in your quotation. Product specification depends on the selected model. Installation is a separate service.
We can also quote for supply and fit where appropriate. The equipment, work and price are confirmed for your installation.

Tell us whether you need supply only or supply and fit, the quantity required and your site or delivery postcode. For lift safety edges, please include:
- Detector make and model.
- Door arrangement.
- Required dimensions.
- Photographs.
Send details you already have, or ask your lift engineer to identify the equipment. Photographs should be taken from safe, accessible areas; you do not need to open panels or access the lift shaft to make an enquiry.
Email opens your email app, where you can attach photographs. If using the form, include the product range in your message.
Match the protection to the doors.
Forge supplies and installs mechanical safety edges and infrared multi-beam detection equipment where suitable. These systems detect contact or an obstruction and signal the door system to respond.
A light curtain creates a detection field across the entrance. AVIRE’s light-curtain range illustrates available equipment; the appropriate choice depends on the lift.
Investigate the symptom before replacing a component.
Doors that repeatedly reopen or behave inconsistently may need investigation of the detection equipment and the wider door system. A new edge is not a cure for every door fault.
We consider mounting, wiring, the controller interface and the condition of the mechanism before defining replacement work.
Check operation after the work.
The agreed installation includes appropriate functional checks and a record of the work. Report any continuing abnormal behaviour so it can be investigated.
Do not rely on door sensors as a reason to hold doors with your body or introduce objects to test them. Contact us about recurring door problems through our repair service.
